Block Party

Most of the news I post on the blog revolves around the physical rebuilding of homes on the gulf coast in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, but those tangible efforts only represent a portion of the overall activity God has seen fit to bless through our hands.

A couple of weeks ago, with the help of our friends from The Grove Baptist Church in Madison AL we hosted a block party complete with free food, live music, a puppet show, a pottery demonstration, door prizes, a gospel presentation, and more. Although the gnats proved horrendous that afternoon, we had a great community turn out of nearly 200 folks, not to mention the 150 or so volunteers from across the country who joined us that week. The Lord blessed us with a good time under the big top and we look forward to doing it again soon.
