Finishing Touches

Eight weeks ago we celebrated the dedication of our new church building and marked the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. While our beautiful new sanctuary did receive an official certificate of Occupancy from the Hancock County Building Department, we still have several little finishing touches to complete. This week a team of volunteers installed the sacristy sink, laid baseboards in the baptistery stairwell, re-routed a few light switches, and other things. Lord willing, a team next week will paint the soffit outside.

Many people have asked if we are still hosting volunteers; yes, absolutely. As far as the church building goes, we still need someone to hang the siding on the front gable end and several other things. In addition to the building, we always have more work than hands to accomplish it all. For example, the team this week is also constructing some clothing racks for our distribution center at the Mercy House. So please, keep us in your prayers and if you would like to take a mission trip to Lakeshore, we would love to serve the Lord with you as he continues to make His glory known on the gulf coast.
