A rotten beam almost shut down the Mercy House, but with the help of a grant from Coast Electric members we are now stronger than ever.
The Mercy House serves as the benevolence ministry platform of Lakeshore Baptist Church. We seek to demonstrate tangible acts of mercy to our community in a variety of ways. Donations of various sorts, including clothing, household items, and nonperishable food is made available to those in need through our distribution center located in the lower level of the Mercy House.
A few years ago one of the beams supporting the front porch and roof began to show signs of rot. Initial estimates revealed that the repairs would far surpass the ministries budgetary capabilities. After much prayer and patience we learned of “Operation Round Up” through Coast Electric. We applied, shared the need, and received a generous grant. The funds helped cover the construction costs. The stabilized facility allows the Mercy House to continue ministering to the community uninterrupted.
The Mercy House is open every Monday from 9-3 and is located at 6077 Lakeshore Road, Bays St. Louis MS 39520.
