My friend, Chris Bostick, finally reported in after the storm. He is OK, but his house is gone. Chris’s grandfather, Ed, and I were good friends. After Ed died Chris and I began building a similar relationship. God has been working in his life in various ways. Chris had requested baptism. We were in the process of discussing the supernatural change God performs in our hearts through regeneration, what it means to be a believer, and the forgiveness of sin Christ provides through his work on the cross. I pray that God will continue to work in his life to His glory.
I love Chris and his family. I hope they do not mind me posting a picture of where his grandma’s house used to be. The big front porch looked out over the water. Katrina’s monster storm surge took the entire house. Not even a single board from the structure could be found.
I took this picture standing in Mrs. Bobbi’s front yard looking up at the slab for the front porch.
Standing on the porch, looking where the house used to be you can see the slab of Ed’s big work shed off to the right. Chris’s house used to be somewhere back there to the left.
Sitting on the front porch looking out to the water.

Don, it was great pleasure to meet you and your wife yesterday. Our congregation here at Walker Baptist is now praying daily for our brothers and sisters in waveland. The Eastern Association now knows of your brave ministry. I hope that we can be the shoulders the you lean on. We’ll be in touch.

Brother Don,
I am so happy to hear that Lakeshore was on CNN! Nice to know that even the smaller towns get recognition too. I am so happy to hear that you and your family are okay. I wish I were there. I left to live with my dad in Oklahoma City. I’m going to finish school here, then possibly, come back home. I wanted to say thank you for all you have done for my family. I know that I have changed since my grandpa died. I stopped going to church as much, and I didn’t talk to you as much. I want you to know that I have found a baptist church to attend here. I know my grandpa would be proud of us all for staying strong throughout this whole thing. He would be proud of us all. I know he loves us. I love you Brother Don- Brittney P.S. Keep the faith (*i know someone ((*Ed “Paw Paw” McClendon*)) is still watching us and keeping us safe*)
Hi Brother Don,
My name is Sam Todd. Chris’ grandmother, Dorri, recently moved in across the street from my family. We live on the north side of Orlando. It was so cool to hear Dorri talk about how blessed she has been through this tragedy. It’s amazing to see picture of what’s left of her home.
I am one of the pastors at Seminole Community Church in Sanford, FL. We are a part of the Seminole Baptist Associaiton. We are bringing two Disaster Relief teams to your area, beginning this Sunday. We are partnering with First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs. Would they happen to be in the same association.
Lord bless you as you rebuild!
