This past weekend we hosted a football team from the Christian Home Educators (CHEF) of Baton Rouge, LA. The home schooled young men displayed exemplary Christian character as they practiced at the Lakeshore Ball Field, ran the beach, studied 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, did some work in the garden, hung out at the bunk house, and worshiped with us on the Lord’s Day. We had a great time.
Their help with Lakeshore Gardens focused on our Mulberry Project. They made 100 cuttings, mixed the potting soil, and filled the grow bags. We placed them in a kiddie pool that will wick the water for rooting. If everything goes well, we will have a Mulberry Food Forest. They also transplanted some of our banana pups, built a new compost bin, planted some fall corn, and other things around the garden.
