This house represents hundreds of former Hancock County residence who lost their home in the storm and still have not been able to rebuild for one reason or another. Last week I received a call from the family that used to live in this house. She is a single mother with two children, a boy and a girl. She also cares for her handicap mother. This household of four has been living in rental property out of town. They desperately want to come home. We believe we may have the financing in place to make that happen. While we still have a few things to work out before we can commit to this particular project, I mention it to remind everyone we still have a long road of recovery left ahead of us on the Mississippi gulf coast.
