June 2007

The full swing of the summer brought about 525 volunteers from 14 states to work with us in the month of June. One of our former neighbors, who has since moved away after the storm, visited our Wednesday night service last week. The crowd of volunteers packed the building to standing room only and he commented how amazing it is that two years later people still continue to come. We praise God for the following teams that came last month.

  • Augusta Baptist Association Disaster Rebuild Team
  • Buckhead Community Church – Atlanta, GA
  • Calhoun Baptist Association – Calhoun City, MS
  • Chelsea & Alex – Hilton Head, SC

We were there also with a group from Fleeming Baptist church and the Augusta Baptist Association Disaster Rebuild Team. We look forward to coming back the end of the month.

Hey everyone in Lakeshore :]

We just wanted to say that we go to New Hope Bible Church in Clarkston, MI and we came down with the Journey last week. We were all blessed by the ministry you have going. Thank you for being so obedient to the call God has placed upon your lives. Seeing your strength and perseverance through such a devastating time is encouragement for all of us.

We were also wondering if what kinds of things are needed the most down there? We worked in the distribution center all week, so we have some sort of idea…but what do you think people are in need of most? We would love to continue supporting Lakeshore Baptist’s ministry, even though we are back home now.

I pray that God would continue to shower blessings upon you guys! Be blessed in the mighty name of Jesus.
